9mm P08 Luger Service Pistol by DWM, dated 1911; number is 98**L. All numbers matching including the magazine. Pistol is not cut for stock and is marked with an LP 186 Mark to the base of the backstrap, denoting issue to the Landespolizei of German South West Africa prior to WWI. It forms part of a group of both Luger Pistols and Roth Sauer Automatic Pistols that were issued to the Police at that time and have been appearing from South Africa for the last few years.
Condition: The Pistol retains some 90% of its original blue finish, with wear marks to the tear plate and right front of frame. The bore shows little signs of use but has a few small corrosion marks; the Lands are very clear. The original numbered magazine has some damage to the left hand toggle, there is some 30% of the straw finish to small parts remaining.
